Texas Democrats To Remain In Illinois In Fight Against GOP Redistricting
(Warrenville, IL) — Texas Democrats are ready to stay in Illinois as long as it takes in their fight against GOP redistricting efforts. A group of Texas Democratic lawmakers stood alongside Chicago-area politicians yesterday in Warrenville. Illinois Democratic Congresswoman Robin Kelly said what is going on in Texas affects the whole country. With the Democrats gone, Texas Republicans are unable to vote to re-draw the map that would give them five more pickup opportunities ahead of 2026. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the state’s Department of Public Safety to arrest House Democrats who weren’t present for the special legislative session yesterday.
