Lawmakers Send A Number of Bills To Pritzker’s Desk
(Springfield, IL) — Illinois lawmakers are sending a number of bills to Governor Pritzker’s desk. State legislators passed the measures before of the General Assembly’s spring session ended over the weekend. They included two bills related to the shooting death of Sonya Massey last year by a former sheriff’s deputy. Other measures would regulate pharmacy benefits managers, offer more protections for health care workers providing abortion care, strengthen restrictions on how firearms are stored or kept, and create a statewide office to support under-resourced public defenders throughout the state. Illinois is also set to study safety measures on DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Chicago.
