Elderly Driver Dead After Decatur Crash
(Decatur, IL) — A Decatur man is dead after a Christmas Day crash. Emergency crews responded to the area of 36 near the bridge over Lake Decatur at about 3:30 yesterday afternoon. That’s where an 87-year-old man drove his pickup truck off the road and hit two utility poles and a road sign before veering back onto the highway, across all lanes, and into two more poles. He was pronounced dead shortly after he was taken to the hospital.
