The St. Louis Cardinals handily defeated the Cincinatti Reds 14-3. The Cardinals hit 6 home runs. Matt Holliday hit two to go along with dingers by Aledmys Diaz, Matt Adams, Randal Grichuk and Brandon Moss. Carlos Martinez was the winning hurler for St. Louis.
The Colorado Rockies beat the Chicago Cubs 6-1. Tommy LaStella drove in the lone Cubs run with a sacrifice fly. Kyle Hendricks took the loss for Chicago.
The Chicago White Sox nipped the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0. Melky Cabrera had two singles and drove in the run for the South Siders. Chris Sale pitched a complete game only allowing two hits for Chicago and went to 3-0 on the season.
