Retired Springfield Police Sergeant Charged With DUI
(Springfield, IL) — A retired Springfield Police sergeant is charged with DUI following a crash in Springfield last week. Authorities say Michael Egan was driving Thursday night on East Lake Shore Drive when he made a left turn and a motorcycle ran into his vehicle. Two people riding the motorcycle were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Egan was initially cited for the crash before being charged with one count of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence Causing Great Bodily Harm. He was arrested yesterday and transported to the Sangamon County Jail.
