One dead, another injured in Route 36 bridge crash
In Decatur, Illinois, a collision on Route 36 bridge near Country Club Road claimed the life of a 24-year-old motorcyclist. The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, shortly before the local fireworks display. Illinois State Police report that a 2010 Honda Odyssey while making a left turn, crossed into the path of the westbound 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with the Odyssey, veered off the road, and hit a parked 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries, while a passenger in the Odyssey sustained minor injuries. Further investigations are ongoing.
