New IL State Troopers Receive Pay Boost
(Springfield, IL) — New state troopers who graduate from the Illinois State Police Academy are in line to receive a starting salary of 90 thousand dollars. State Police Director Brendan Kelly says the starting salary reflects the competition for new recruits and the need to make service in the state police force more of a career for new police. Kelly says the state’s financial condition and series of balanced budgets have made the higher salaries possible.
