Bill Would Pay Student Teachers
(Springfield, IL) — Illinois lawmakers are debating a bill that would pay student teachers as they’re learning to teach students. Under the bill, student teachers would be paid about ten thousand dollars per semester that they teach. The proposal would cost the state between 50 and 54 million dollars. It’s aimed at recruiting more teachers to enter the profession.
