Springfield Woman With Extensive Record Arrested Again
(Springfield, IL) — A Springfield woman with dozens of arrests on her record has again been taken into custody. Police issued a warrant for Keyannya Simpson last week for retail theft and violation of pretrial release conditions. The 42-year-old Simpson was fitted with an ankle monitor on Wednesday but was found to have removed the device the following day. Simpson has been arrested at least 67 times. Records with Sangamon County say Simpson has racked up 15 felony cases for theft and forgery since 2022 alone and has served jail time in both Illinois and Tennessee.
