Illinois Basketball Star Terrence Shannon Suspended After Rape Charge
(Champaign, IL) — Illinois men’s basketball star Terrence Shannon Junior is suspended from the team after being charged with rape. Officials say the Douglas County District Attorney in Kansas issued an arrest warrant for Shannon on Wednesday over allegations of a sexual assault that happened in September while Shannon was attending an Illini football game against the Kansas Jayhawks. His attorney says he has cooperated with law enforcement since the accusations surfaced. Shannon leads 9th-ranked Illinois in scoring at over 21 points per game.
