Death Toll For I-55 Crash In Montgomery Co Is Seven
(Montgomery Co., IL) — The death toll of a massive crash on I-55 in Montgomery County that was caused by a dust storm is now up to seven. State police say the remains of another person was discovered at the scene. Nearly 40 people were sent to the hospital following a pileup involving more than 70 vehicles Monday on I-55, north of Farmersville. Multiple crashes were caused by excessive winds blowing dirt from farm fields across the highway, which was temporarily closed in both directions.
