Ex-Champaign Pastor Sentenced To Prison Misapplying Federal Funds and Bankruptcy Fraud
(Urbana, IL) — A former Champaign pastor is going to prison for misapplying federal funds and bankruptcy fraud. Lekevie Johnson was sentenced to ten months behind bars after pleading guilty in December. Johnson was previously the pastor of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Champaign. Between 2012 and 2019, he operated a not-for-profit corporation called Life Line Champaign. Johnson admitted to misapplying more than 25-thousand-dollars of HUD program grant funds for his own benefit and committing bankruptcy fraud.
