Trump Indictment Sparks Reaction In Illinois
(Springfield, IL) — The indictment of former President Donald Trump is sparking reactions from former and current politicians in Illinois. U.S. Rep. Mary Miller posted on social media, “We will not be deterred. We will defeat the communists trying to destroy our country. We will save America.” Former state senator Darren Bailey posted a photo on Facebook of himself on stage with Trump at a rally where the former president endorsed him in last year’s Illinois governor’s race. The picture included the caption “I stand with President Trump, Because he stood with us.” U.S. Senator Dick Durbin Tweeted that the court process must be allowed to play out, adding that no one is above the law, not even a former president.
