Macon County Animal Control responded in reference to a complaint of a dead dog

On 1/24/23 Macon County Animal Control responded to Sawyer Road south of Illiniwick in reference to
a complaint of a dead dog. A deceased dog was located inside of a cage in the ditch near the road.
The dog appeared to be emaciated. At this time the owner of the dog has not been identified and there
has not been a definitive cause of death determined. Anyone with information about this is encouraged
