Two Charged With Assaulting Officer In Mattoon
Two men from Mattoon are facing charges over allegations they assaulted a police officer. Kyle Hamilton and Timothy Cotter were arrested October 25th in the 11-hundred block of Edgar Avenue. Officers were called out to a home to check on the well-being of a person. Authorities say Hamilton pushed an officer and interfered during with investigation. Cotter was accused of punching an officer in the face and hitting him in the head several times with a household item. The officer suffered a broken nose and other head injuries.
