WETZEL ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR DECATUR SCHOOL BOARD
Will Wetzel proudly announces his candidacy for Board Member of the Decatur Public
School District #61’s Board of Education. Mr. Wetzel is a native of Decatur, having graduated from
Eisenhower High School in 2003 and Richland Community College in 2012. Mr. Wetzel currently works as
an IT professional for ADM. He has been married for 10 years to his wife, Tiffany, and they have a 7-
year-old daughter Ava who attends Decatur Public Schools.
“After long reflection and encouragement from friends, family, and Decatur residents, I have decided to
run for election to the Decatur Public School Board,” Wetzel said.
Wetzel plans to spend the fall and winter listening and speaking with Decaturities to hear their concerns
and ideas for the future of DPS #61. If elected, his four main priorities will be;
1. Ensuring our children receive the best education possible that prepares them for the 21st
century
2. To balance the needs of the district’s students, parents, taxpayers, teachers, staff, and
administration
3. Restoring accountability, transparency, and openness in the Board of Education
4. Supporting teachers, teachers’ assistants, and staff that directly work with our students
