Springfield Woman Sentenced For Trying To Help Inmates Escape Jail
(Springfield) — A Springfield woman is receiving eleven months in federal prison for helping inmates try to escape from the Sangamon County Jail. Prosecutors say Allison Poorman and co-defendant Josh Beechler provided various contraband items to two inmates in the jail. The items were intended to be used by the inmates to escape from the jail. They included a hack saw, saw blades, zip ties, a cutting glove, a small pry bar, rope, and a cellular telephone. Their efforts were thwarted by an anonymous call to the jail.
