Illinois Family Charged In Years-Long Forced Labor Scheme
(Washington, IL) — An Illinois family is accused of coercing two minors and a third victim into a years long forced labor scheme. A federal grand jury indicted Domingo Francisco-Juan, Lorenza Domingo-Castaneda, and Catarina Domingo-Juan. All three are siblings and Guatemalan nationals. Prosecutors say the defendants conspired to bring two minor victims from Guatemala to the United States to work in two of their homes. The minors were compelled to provide childcare, cooking, and cleaning and work outside the homes. A third victim was forced to do the same. The victims were also restricted from communicating with their family in Guatemala, and subjected to physical, verbal and psychological abuse.
