Springfield Man Sentenced 44 Years In Deadly Shooting
A Springfield man is receiving a 44-year prison sentence for his role in the shooting death of woman in 2016. Demarco Jones was convicted in Sangamon County Circuit Court of first-degree murder and armed robbery. Alaysia Bennett was killed in a shooting during an attempted robbery in Springfield. Jones and two other men were charged in the incident. Devante Taylor was found guilty of murder and is serving a 50-year prison sentence, while Roderick Gailes is back in court on September 9th.
