Prison Guard Tower Catches Fire After Lightning Strike
A guard tower at Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln caught fire yesterday morning after lightning struck it. Firefighters for the Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District responded and found flames shooting through the roof when they arrived. They were soon able to bring it under control. The tower was evacuated safely and nobody was hurt.
