HSHS and Others to Host Organ and Tissues Donor Drive
HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital, Life Goes On and Gift of Hope are teaming up to encourage individuals from minority communities to sign up to be organ and tissue donors. The organizations will hold a prayer service and donor drive on Tuesday, Aug. 2 starting at 10 a.m. in the main lobby of the hospital.
National Minority Donor Awareness Month is celebrated each year in August and aims to save and improve the quality of life of diverse communities by creating a positive culture around organ, eye and tissue donation.
Following the prayer service, there will be a donor drive until 2 p.m. where community members can learn more about organ donation and sign up to be organ and tissue donors.
