DHS Ordered Back to Court
The Illinois Department of Human Services has again been told by a county judge to explain why the agency is not taking detainees deemed unfit for trial from county jails. In another case brought by Sangamon County Sheriff Jack Campbell, DHS must appear in front of the Sangamon County judge July 15. The agency was recently found in contempt in a separate case before ultimately transferring an inmate to state custody.
