Man In Custody After Standoff In Decatur
A man is in custody following a standoff in Decatur. Authorities say Macon County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home yesterday in the 14-hundred block of West Main Street to serve an eviction notice to the tenant. Deputies entered the home and encountered a man with a handgun. He barricaded himself inside a room in the residence. After more than eight hours of negotiations, the man surrendered peacefully. He was arrested and taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
