Bailey Calls Irvin ‘Corrupt Democrat’
Darren Bailey is taking aim at rival Richard Irvin. The State Senator called the Aurora Mayor a “corrupt Democrat” during a debate last night of Republican candidates for governor hosted by ABC-7 Chicago, Univision and the League of Women Voters of Illinois. Bailey has repeatedly questioned Irvin’s Republican loyalties since he voted in Democratic primaries in 2014, 2016 and 2020. Irvin responded by saying his opponents are threatened by the fact that he is hurting their political aspirations.
