Illinois Republicans Face Off In Primary Governor Debates
A group of Illinois Republicans seeking to unseat Governor Pritzker are facing off ahead of the June 28th primary. State senator Darren Bailey, Gary Rabine and Jesse Sullivan took part in a forum last night on WGN-TV, while Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, former state Senator Paul Schimpf, and Max Solomon appeared on NBC Chicago and Telemundo. Similar topics were discussed during both debates, including Chicago crime and the deadly mass shooting at the Texas elementary school. Bailey blasted Chicago, calling it a “a crime-ridden, corrupt, dysfunctional hellhole.” Irvin called the Texas school shooting “a horrific act.”
