Cases of COVID-19 in Illinois Increased by 39 Percent
COVID-19 casesin Illinois are up as new infections have been slowly rising but the most important metrics…hospitalizations and deaths have been holding fairly steady. Still, Governor JB Pritzker says they are keeping an eye on the situation and will announce precautions if appropriate.
More than 19-thousand new cases were reported this past week, not including those who may have tested positive with an at-home kit. All but four Illinois counties are at low risk for transmission of the virus. However, Dupage, Champaign, Mclean and Piatt are considered at medium risk. The elderly and people with compromised immune systems in those counties are advised to wear a mask in indoor public places until that changes.
