New data from the CDC shows it’s safe to go without face masks in public indoor spaces in all Illinois counties. All 102 counties were listed in the low category of the COVID-19 community level map. This marks the first time CDC data has supported going without a mask in every county since the end of the state’s mask mandate. A week earlier, masks were only recommended in Johnson County, which had a high community level on the CDC map.
