Federal Farm Bill To Provide Grant Funding To Expand Produce Availability

Funding from the federal Farm Bill will help expand availability of locally-grown produce.  The Illinois Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for the Specialty Crop Block Grant program online through April 15th.  They plan to distribute over 586-thousand-dollars over three years.  Smaller or beginning farms and ranches are encouraged to apply, as are those in underserved communities and veteran producers.
