At about Noon Wednesday, DPD officers responded to the 1900 block of N. Monroe in reference to a report of numerous shots fired. While officers were en route, DPD received a call that a gunshot victim was in the back yard of a residence in the 1900 block of N, Monroe. Responding officers located a 50-year-old male Decatur resident at that location suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including a serious wound to his thigh resulting in severe bleeding. The victim was transported via ambulance to DMH where he is described as in serious condition.
