IDOT Worker Seriously Hurt In Effingham Co. Crash

An IDOT employee is seriously hurt following a crash in Effingham County.  State police say a Ford SUV traveling on U.S. Route 40 yesterday hit the IDOT worker, as well as a trailer being pulled by an IDOT truck.  The IDOT employee was hospitalized with life-threatening-injuries, while the driver of the Ford suffered non-life-threatening injuries.  The SUV driver was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
