Illinois is investing more than 111-million-dollars on transit providers downstate. The state is also spending more than 108-million-dollars for public ports in Illinois. The funding is the second round of grants awarded as part of the Rebuild Illinois capital program to invest in transit outside the Chicago area. Projects include the purchase of new vehicles as well as the construction of bus shelters, stations, and maintenance facilities.
