Illinois Tax Filing Season Begins

Illinois’ tax filing season begins  today, January 24th.  The state’s Department of Revenue will begin accepting 2021 state individual income tax returns on the same date that the IRS begins accepting federal individual income tax returns.  If a taxpayer electronically files a return, they should receive a direct deposit refund in approximately four weeks.
