Illinois Logs Highest Ever Daily Average of COVID Cases

COVID-19 cases continue to surge in Illinois.  New figures Tuesday show the daily average number of cases exceeded 16-thousand statewide for the first time during the pandemic.  The daily average increase was largely due to a record number of infections for a single day on Christmas Eve.  The surge has prompted officials to caution the public about participating in large gatherings for New Year’s Eve.
