Illinois will receive federal assistant as part of it recovery efforts for counties impacted by last week’s tornadoes and severe weather. Governor J.B. Pritzker announced yesterday that the federal government approved his request for an emergency disaster declaration, making federal assistance possible in response to Friday night’s storms. The declaration will provide financial support to local jurisdictions for storm related losses or costs. More than a dozen counties were approved under the emergency disaster declaration.
