Illinois Virtual Learning Program Closing Doors After 20 Years

The Illinois Virtual School is closing its doors after operating for 20 years.  Officials with the company announced yesterday that it will stop operating on June 22nd, 2022.  IVS is the official supplemental virtual learning provider of the Illinois State Board of Education and is based in Peoria.  Officials say ISBE moved to a course catalog model at the beginning of 2020 and eliminated the annual grant that operates the school.
