Illinois Mental Health Officials Face Staff Shortage

State senate lawmakers are getting an earful from Illinois mental health officials about a worker shortage. Department of Human Services Deputy Director Donnell Barnett says the current situation is far from good.  He adds that his agency will be implementing a student loan repayment program and are looking for other ways to attract staff.  Meanwhile, local mental health organizations are seeking more funding to pay competitive wages.
