A newly released report from the VA inspector general says that the Danville agency failed to manage the risks and spread of COVID-19. The over 60-page report highlights what went wrong at the campus and how it can be changed to ensure no similar situations happen. Two nursing homes on Danville’s VA campus experienced COVID outbreaks in the fall of 2020 that led to positive tests for almost 240 patients and over 90 staff members. Eleven people died as the result of the outbreak.
