Suspect In Custody After Highway Standoff In Macon County

A suspect is in custody after a standoff on U.S. Highway 51 in Macon County.  The standoff happened yesterday afternoon.  The county sheriff’s office says the standoff was related to a domestic violence situation in Clinton.  Authorities chased the vehicle, which was reported to also be occupied by the suspect, a child, and a dog, before it was stopped and the suspect was eventually arrested.
