Enhanced Unemployment Coming to an End

Enhanced unemployment benefits are set to come to a close. The Illinois Department of Employment Security announced the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and other federal programs brought on during the pandemic expire on Sept. 4. Extended benefits will end Sept. 11. The agency also announced it’s reopened some offices that have been closed nearly 18 months. Those offices will be open by appointment only.
