Illinois will now allow older special needs students to finish the school year with their peers. Governor J.B. Pritzker signed several bills yesterday that will change policies related to when special needs students would age out of school services. The new laws allow special education students who turn 22 to finish out the academic year with their class. The change permits the students turning 22 to continue having access to vital services through the end of the school year.
