Sullivan PD Shutting Down K-9 Program

The Sullivan Police Department says it is not moving forward with its K-9 program.  Chief Andrew Pistorius says the main reason the department is closing down the program is “current laws and attacks in law enforcement.”  The department’s first K-9 unit, Renzo, died in February during his first week on the job from previously undiagnosed pre-existing conditions.  Pistorius is requesting suggestions from the public for where to send donated funds in cases where return hasn’t been requested.
