Macon County has a new law enforcement leader. Jim Root was sworn in as sheriff yesterday after a nearly three-year-long recount process. A circuit court judge ruled in May that Root had won the 2018 election by 16 votes, following a lengthy battle. Initial vote counts put sitting Sheriff Tony Brown ahead by one vote. Brown announced following the court decision that he intended to retire.
Sheriff Root appeared Monday afternoon on “The Daly Dose” with Jeff Daly. Listen to the podcast HERE
