The Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater in Decatur has announced the inaugural Juneteenth Multicultural Celebration on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. This event is produced by a committee of local volunteers.
This event is free and open to the public. No ticket required.
“We recognized the efforts already happening by the African American Cultural & Genealogical Society and Museum in Central Park to honor Juneteenth, and wanted to build on their success with an effort to celebrate and welcome all cultures to an entertaining event,” stated Mike Wilcott, General Manager of The Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater.
The committee also partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Decatur to recruit submissions for a 2022 Juneteenth logo contest and a written essay contest. The winners of both will be unveiled and shared during the event.
