The outstanding academic work of Millikin University students from the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Fine Arts, Tabor School of Business and College of Professional Studies will be showcased during the University’s 13th annual Celebrations of Scholarship April 21-23, 2021.
During this celebratory event, students from across the University will present the results of their research, scholarship and creative efforts to the Millikin community. Multiple virtual concurrent sessions modeled on a scholarly conference format and organized independently by each department will run across campus.
Celebrations of Scholarship showcases the outstanding work of Millikin students proving that an education focused on engaging students in the theory and practice of their disciplines develops accomplished scholars prepared for graduate and professional study or challenging positions in the workplace.
Celebrations of Scholarship events will begin with the Distinguished Faculty Lecture on Wednesday, April 21, at 6 p.m. This year’s Distinguished Faculty Lecturer is Dr. Michael Hartsock, associate professor of philosophy and director of the Honors Program. The title of Dr. Hartsock’s lecture is “Nothing Matters.”
Millikin’s virtual Honors Convocation will be held on Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m. During this time-honored tradition, over 80 awards are presented to Millikin students and faculty who are being honored for their commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence.
