A sweeping healthcare reform bill has officially passed the Illinois General Assembly. Officials say the legislation will address health inequities in communities of color, such requiring implicit bias training for health care workers and creating an Anti-Racism Commission to work on eliminating systemic racism. The bill also includes a moratorium on hospital closures. Those against the bill cited costs, saying it could take anywhere between five-to-12-billion dollars to implement.
