Illinois Investments Top One Billion Dollars

Illinois Treasurer Mike Frerichs says the state’s investment earning from 2015 now top one billion dollars. Frerichs says his office hit the milestone by working with the Legislature to allow for a more modern investment approach. He says some of the changes his office made include the ability to invest in corporate bonds issued by companies like Deere, Caterpillar and Pfizer as well as public sector bonds like those issued by school districts.
