Maroa Teen Facing Charges For Allegedly Stealing ISP Rifle

A Maroa teen is facing charges for allegedly stealing an Illinois State Trooper’s rifle.  Investigators believe 19-year-old Zion Hoffman smashed the window of a squad car parked outside a trooper’s house and stole an M4 rifle. A search warrant was served that led to the recovery of the M4 and several other stolen weapons.  Hoffman is charged with possession of a stolen firearm.  Two juveniles were also detained as part of the investigation, but were later released pending a review of charges.  The investigation is continuing.
