House Advances Legislation To Create Immigration Representation Task Force

An Illinois House committee is advancing legislation to create a task force related to immigration.  The task force would look into the feasibility of providing legal representation to people in Illinois facing deportation.  The bill passed out of the Illinois House Committee on immigration and Human Rights Wednesday.  The task force would be uncompensated and wouldn’t require an appropriation of state funding.
