Piatt County is leading the state in soybean production. Figures released yesterday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture put Piatt County as Illinois’ number one producer of soybeans in 2020. Piatt County averaged 70-point-five bushels per acre during the 2020 harvest and was the third largest producer in the country. Piatt has been the state’s most productive soybean county in the state four times in the last decade.
