State Fire Officials Urge Older Illinoisans To Practice Fire Safety

State fire officials are urging elderly Illinoisans to practice fire safety.  Fire Marshal spokesman JC Fultz says in 2019 close to 48 percent of all fire deaths in Illinois were people over 60.  The Illinois Department of Aging offers an emergency home response service for qualifying seniors.  It’s a 24-hour two-way communication system where once you push a button, help will be on its way.
